Who publishes Poké EV

pokeev.com is an independent site, published by a private individual on a non-professional basis. It is neither affiliated with nor endorsed by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Creatures Inc. or GAME FREAK.

What the site does

Poké EV calculates what a Pokémon booster pack, booster box or ETB returns on average once opened, and compares it with the price you paid: OPEN when the expected value beats that price, KEEP otherwise.

The calculation combines the documented pull rates of 130 sets with today's prices for 18,948 cards, read every day from TCGplayer (US market, in dollars) and Cardmarket (European market, in euros). The full method, its sources and its limits are published on the Methodology page.

How the blog is written

The blog publishes one article a day. Each article is drafted by an automated writing pipeline, working only from Poké EV's own data: the day's price snapshot, the documented pull rates and the daily price archive.

Before anything goes online, the article passes several hundred automated checks: every figure must match the live data, every link must lead somewhere, every record or rise it announces must clear a measured threshold. No article is reviewed by a person before publication: those checks are the review, and an article that fails one is not published.

Figures in published articles are refreshed daily from the same data, and the date the prices were read is printed under each article.

Corrections

Found a wrong figure or an inaccurate claim? Write to contact@pokeev.com. Corrections are made on the article itself: a wrong headline is rewritten, a wrong figure is fixed at the source and flows to every page that prints it.

Independence and money

Some links to merchants (eBay, Amazon, TCGplayer) are affiliate links: Poké EV may earn a commission on a purchase, at no extra cost to the buyer. These links are marked as sponsored.

No merchant pays to appear on the site, or to change an estimate, a verdict or a price. Estimates are provided for information only and are not financial advice.
