Delta Species: Kyogre ★ is the Pokémon card to chase

Kyogre ★ is the Gold Star card of Delta Species, and its price dwarfs the rest of the set. What remains is its pull rate. Its card page carries the history.

What this Pokémon Delta Species card is worth

Mewtwo δ, the first of the cards that follow, costs $746.84 and Umbreon δ $515.13. The pages for Mewtwo δ and Umbreon δ give each its own curve, and the Delta Species set page ranks everything else. All three belong to the same set and sit at holo rarity or above, so the comparison stays inside one product, on one market, on one day.

What the Kyogre ★ pull rate says

Gold Star cards are the thinnest rarity in the set: very few different cards share a very small part of the packs. The rate above is a single named card's, and it reads as an average over many packs, not as a promise for any given box. The rarity model for this set remains low confidence: the pack layout is known, the exact Gold Star share is not known as well.

Set against its price, that rate says one simple thing: opening packs to get this card is not the sensible route. Anyone who still wants to open can look at single packs or the same packs elsewhere, which already sell at a collector price. The card is bought as a single.

This figure describes a market at its date, and nothing else: it does not replace a seller's listing on a given day, and it says nothing about what follows. It describes the card named here, not the condition of a copy for sale. Boxes are also listed here.
