EX Dragon: Rayquaza ex, the Pokémon card to chase

Rayquaza ex is the chase card of the Pokémon EX Dragon set. One figure is missing from its page: its chance of coming out of a booster. It comes in the last section. The card detail is on the Rayquaza ex card page.

Rayquaza ex and the other Pokémon cards of EX Dragon

Rayquaza ex sits at $595.55. Dragonite ex follows at $524.89, then the secret Charizard at $489.99. The first two are ex cards, the headline rarity of that period of the game. The third belongs to the Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard line, reprinted here as a secret card. Each price describes the card as it sells: it says nothing about how easy it is to find, which the pull rate measures separately.

How many boosters it takes to pull Rayquaza ex

Each EX Dragon booster sets aside a slot for a rare card. Part of those slots goes to ex cards, and that share is split among all the ex cards of the set. The grid above gives the result for one specific card, like Rayquaza ex, in a booster and then in a box. A low rate makes a card hard to pull, not necessarily expensive: the two measures are not the same thing.

This rate comes from a sample of collectors, not from a study by the publisher. It describes the average over many boosters, not what yours holds: a box can contain none of the ex cards, or several.
